Lime
\n
Lime, also called lime or lemon bergamot, is a citrus fruit of Asian origin, very common in countries with a tropical climate (lately experimental crops have also been made in Sicily). It is a sapling of irregular shape (up to 3-5 meters high) with thorny twigs, oval leaves, rounded at the base and pointed at the apex, light green. The inflorescences have two to seven small white and fragrant flowers, which are produced at different times of the year.

Lime and Lemon are both belonging to the same family, Rutaceae, with some small differences between them. Lime and lemon have a very similar shape, both oval, but lemon on average has a larger size. As for the color, the lemon is yellow while the lime, as we know it, has a green / yellow green skin, thin and rich in essential oils. The lime has inside a pulp containing up to 6% of citric acid, very agra but very fragrant.

Another difference between lemon and lime is that the latter is less rich in vitamin C than the former, this does not mean that it still has important antioxidant properties.

Limes are also cholesterol-free, rich in mineral salts, especially potassium. They have no contraindications for nutritional regimens against overweight, metabolic diseases, gluten intolerance and lactose intolerance; are relevant to the vegetarian, vegan and raw food diet. Slices of dehydrated lime are in fact ideal for a delicious snack. In addition, the intake of lemon or lime during meals helps to lower the levels of bad cholesterol in the blood.

Both lemon and lime juice can be used for skin care, to make it shiny and protected at the same time. Lemon and lime then naturally facilitate digestion by increasing the secretion of gastric juices, acids and bile, thanks to the presence of citric acid.

Procedure:
\n
To prepare the Margarita cocktail squeeze the lime juice and pour it into a low and wide basin. Dip the edge of the margarita cup upside down (preserving the juice), then, always keeping the cup upside down, place the edge in a saucer filled with fine salt, so that a crust of salt is created on the edge of the cup. Now move on to the actual cocktail: fill the shaker with ice and pour the tequila, the triple sec and finally the lime juice in which you had dipped the cup. Put the cap on the shaker and shake the cocktail. Remove the cap and filter the cocktail into the cup with the help of the strainer.

Cut a slice of lime or use a dehydrated slice, slightly cutting the slice so you can apply the washer on the glass: use it to decorate the glass of your Margarita!
