Since ancient times it has been used as a sedative medicinal plant, but also against rheumatism and to counteract fever. Thanks to its antispasmodic qualities, chamomile promotes muscle relaxation due to the presence in its phytocomplex of flavonoids (eupatuletin, quercimethrin) and coumarins, which consequently gives us a sense of well-being and calm, so as to promote sleep and help us sleep well.
Chamomile also has analgesic, antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant and antipyretic properties.
Thanks to the presence of mucilages, moreover, chamomile is a plant with anti-inflammatory properties very useful when there are problems at the level of the stomach, intestines or other mucous membranes of the body.
This plant is rich in flavonoids, therefore it also has antioxidant qualities, and contains a very delicate essential oil that can be used in spread in case of insomnia and nervousness or diluted in vegetable oil for massages on dry or reddened skin.

Chamomile: Contraindications
Particular attention should be paid by pregnant women, as too high a dose of chamomile can stimulate contractions. It is good to avoid in any case the intake in the first three months of gestation, then contacting your gynecologist before proceeding with the use.

1. Pour a teaspoon of chamomile into a saucepan of boiling water.
2. Turn off the heat, cover and leave to infuse for 3/4 min.
3. Strain and sweeten to taste, perhaps with a little honey.
