Mallow is a plant belonging to the Malvaceae family and is native to North Africa. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and emollient properties, mallow is useful against coughing, but also for regulating the function of the intestine. The flowers and in particular the leaves of the mallow are rich in mucilage, which gives the plant emollient and anti-inflammatory properties. These active ingredients act by coating the mucous membranes with a viscous layer that protects them from irritants, for this reason their use is indicated against cough and in catarrhal forms.
