GOJI
Goji berries represent the fruit of longevity Fruit of a perennial shrub, Lycium Barbarum, from Asia and in particular from the Himalayas, Nepal and Mongolia. The name goji would have been created in 1973 by the North American ethnobotanist Bradley Dobos. The fruit, always appreciated for its therapeutic and nutritional properties, looks like a slightly elongated red berry and containing several flattened seeds. Goji berries can be defined as the "fruit of longevity because their intake brings numerous benefits thanks above all to their richness in vitamin C, B vitamins and vitamin E.
Goji berries contain chemical compounds called phytochemicals. Phytochemicals include polysaccharides, beta-carotene and zeaxanthin.
- Polysaccharides are a primary feature of the goji berry. These are an essential source of dietary fiber, help improve immune function and increase total antioxidant activity in the body.
Beta-carotene is vital for eye health, bone health, skin health and cell development.
Zeaxanthin plays a crucial role in supporting the immune system. Many researchers believe that zeaxanthin can prevent macular degeneration, a progressive impairment of vision that occurs when the central part of the retina, or macula, deteriorates.
Hazelnuts
Since ancient times, hazelnuts have been attributed nutritional, healing and even divinatory properties. Hazelnuts are among the fruits richest in vitamin E: 100 grams of hazelnuts contain about 86%. Our body greatly needs the presence of vitamin E as it protects the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays and premature aging. Hazelnuts also contain phytosterols, substances useful for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and good fats. The latter fans that hazelnuts are considered beneficial to the heart. In this dried fruit we also find a high content of vitamin B6, necessary for the creation of myelin, which increases the speed and effectiveness of nerve impulses. A regular consumption of hazelnuts allows you to enjoy different benefits due to the substances present in them (magnesium, potassium, calcium, copper ...).
Mile
Millet looks like a small yellow seed. Millet (Panicum miliaceum, L.) is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the Poaceae (or Gramineaceae) family. It is a very precious food for our body as it is rich in beneficial and nutritional properties. In fact, millet is particularly valuable because it contains proteins and is gluten-free; for this reason it is a food suitable for vegans, vegetarians and those suffering from celiac disease. This cereal is able to bring benefits in case of tiredness and exhaustion.
Eating millet can improve your overall well-being by providing essential nutrients for our health. Small whole grain has a slightly nutty taste. Millet is able to absorb water in the same way as rice or quinoa. Once the water is boiled, the result is a soft, nutritious grain that can be served as a side dish or appetizer.
